BAGS OF KINDNESS – helping vulnerable women

I love handbags any size or colour so when I heard about ‘Bags of Kindness’ I knew this was a project I could manage, to be of service to women in need of just about the most basic everyday toiletries that we take for granted.

The handbags that we collect go up to Edinburgh to be distributed to homeless people living on the street or who have been given refuge by Womens Aid in emergency situations, usually because of domestic abuse.

If you would like to help women who, through no fault of their own, do not even possess the most basic personal essentials, please would you fill a second hand handbag with some or all of the following:

  • wet wipes
    toothpaste and toothbrush
    tampons and/or sanitary pads
    a hairbrush, hair clips, hairbands
    first aid plasters
cotton buds (try to get the non-plastic type)
    emery boards
    body moisturising cream
    soap or body wash
    a notebook and pen/pencils
    pocket tissues
    lip balm
    hand sanitiser
    shower gel or cream

Any donations, no matter how small, will be gratefully received. If you can get to All Saints, please leave your donations in the box at the back of the church, next to the food bank box.

If you have any queries, please contact me through our church secretary.

Thank you.
